Many of you might be aware of this for months, like me, about the issues with WordPress‘s upgrade automatically feature. It fails sometimes and then it starts working perfect sometimes, its an annoying little bit*h.
I tried googling to no success and I still do not know whats going on. Does anyone else face the same issue? what is the fix, if any? HELP!
I am going to start on a small system for internal use and I wanted to re-think my choice of CodeIgniter because it does not have templates or ORM. Guess what, I landed with KohanaPHP. It sounds very tempting that a new MVC Framework based on CodeIgniter with new features (especially ORM) is here but the documentation is really really poor.
I tried googling for a book or tutorial and I was really disappointed to have found none. I tried Amazon.com for a book but no books. Looks like I have landed in some weird space that might be good looking but I need to get my hands dirty in the code to learn it and at the end of the day, it may seem that I have lost a lot of hours on this new Framework. Lets give it a try!
Update: As of today (28th July, 2010), I am working on YII, its good, powerful and blazing fast. It has all the feature of CakePHP too.
Well, my initial estimates were wrong. I thought I could retweet the posts and Twitter would give me accurate results. The problem is with twitter results. They are giving me wrong and irrelevant results.
Also, when I ask Twitter to only send me “positive” tweets, it sometimes does not mark most of the positive tweets as “positive”, in fact they are not marked at all. So there are the “positive” tweets, “negative” tweets, “questions” and “unknown” (or “unrated”) tweets. A quick look at these tweets and I can see many of them as good ones that should have been retweeted but they were not.
To get over this situation, I need to have an admin panel where I can see statistics and possibly “approve” the negative / unrated tweets.
Having previous experience working in Zend Framework, CakePHP and CodeIgniter, I would prefer to build it in Code Igniter. I will keep this page updated with more info.
My salary account is HBL (I hate this bank) and I use Dubai Islamic Bank’s services which I am very satisfied with. So last night after work, I thought to move balance from HBL to DIB, tried the inter-bank transfer (which should be great if it is working) but invain. So I went straight to DIB Main Bulevard, Guberg branch.
I took out the cash from one ATM and tried to deposit it via DIB’s CDM (Cash Deposit Machine) into my DIB account. Either the machine was acting weird or the time-waste was inevitable. The machine deposited half my cash and reject the other half. I took a look at the other half that was rejected, the bills were clean and new. I could not find anything with the naked eye so I tried again and the machine rejected all the bills again.
Hmm, what could be wrong, I was asking myself. Then I tried again but this time with different counts, some upside down, some backwards and to my surprize all of the cash was deposited. So next time, if your CDM says Can’t deposit, try straightening the bills and submitting them again using different ways, It will hopefully work. It worked for me 
I thought it was a good news for pizza lovers like me but it wasn’t.
Me and my friend visited the Domino outlet in Link Road branch on 06th June 2009. Let me give you an account of what I saw and went through there.
Four tables and chairs similar to those in Kindergarden. Plus there was no one to show you the way AND all tables were pre-occupied. So as soon as one table got free, I jumped in while my friend was still at the counter ordering the pizza. We always ask for less vegetables and extra chicken topings. We did the same here too.
After 15 min someone called my friend’s name if his Parents were here to pick him up from school (lol, yeah!) and he was stunned at first then he moved to the counter, they handed him the pizza in a box. He asked “Excuse me, I am a Dine-in not a take away”, she replied Yes sir its a Dine-in. She also handed over ketchup sachets and two thick papers to use them as PLATES (WTF!!)
We opened the box on the tables and the first look of the pizza seemed if it was really DRY, it was clearly not deep-pan pizza. There were LOTS of vegetables on it and we thought for a second if we accidentally ordered a vegetable pizza (if they had one that is) but it was not. This was out order. Clearly the presentation was very poor but we planned to eat it since we were hungry.
There are no plates, forks, knives etc in Domino so you have to use your hands as fork/knive and the paper they gave you as a plate.
Just when we took a couple of bites off this dry-and-vegetables-full-pizza two of the Domino workers on the floor started a fight and they were swearing each other. For a split second I thought I was in some market, standing near a street hawkers but then I realized even the street hawker has plates so I am not there, its Domino.
One more thing that I must mention here is that my pizza didn’t had any chicken pieces on it (apart from the 4-5 microscopic chicken pieces), I looked to my sides and I noticed nobody has it.
In short, I was really disappointed and wasted my money in Domino. And I could have got more money for value from a shawarma or a plate of Gol Gappas.
Moral: Don’t go to Domino just for the sake of trying it. If you want to eat good Pizza then go for Pizza Hut M.M. Alam Road, their Pizza is great as always.
Today, I have started on CodeIgniter, one of the powerful PHP frameworks recommended by Rasmus Lerdorf
CodeIgniter is most often noted for its speed when compared to other PHP frameworks. In a critical take on PHP frameworks in general, PHP creator Rasmus Lerdorf spoke at frOSCon in August 2008, noting that he liked CodeIgniter “because it is faster, lighter and the least like a framework”.
So far what I can tell you is that it really is FAST. I have been coding in CakePHP and Zend Framework, but this framework is very fast. Truely speaking I did not felt any difference using it.
I will keep posting about my experience of CodeIgniter.

I do not know where their office is in Lahore, Pakistan but if any of you know, I would definitely want to know their whereabouts.
I never knew about Waqar Zaka until I saw a few videos from a friend’s wall on Facebook. I didn’t knew he was the singer in the song “Nahi parha main ne poora saal“.
The thing is, he SUCK very bad, he has attitude problem and I personally think he is retarded. Must be some bad accident in the past when he fell off his bike or when he was visiting Afghanistan after the video in 1995.
It is very shameful to see these kind of persons as VJs on a Pakistani based TV channel (THE MUSIK) and the people who are FANS of him? and the people who want to go to his show and get Humiliated and FUC*ED on-air with his sick attitude? I will classify these people/fans as the sickest of ‘em all. Its like people going crazy over some Bull Dog Pakistani leader who lives abroad and is scared to come down to Pakistan and claims to be very loyal, pu**ies.
I am shocked to see the girls who come to his shows/auditions and depict totally different attitude as if they are not Pakistani or does not have any moral values left in them. But the biggest shock is that a Pakistani channel from Karachi (The Musik) still has this sick personality (Im talking about Waqar Zaka) on their channel? Shame on “The Musik” and shame on everyone that is part of This program/channel.
It was also amusing when he was trying to make a stupid girl understand to speak in English, but why does the program has an English Music? Get some Urdu/local music in it and show your patriotic spirit?!?!? Sick state of mindless d**k head.
I do not have anything personal with Waqar Zaka or whatever the fuckin name he has but I know this …. Dare is something different, its a different state of mind and body when you have the energy, will and urge but what Waqar Zaka is doing is not dare, its mindless state of someone who has no brains, is really screwed, wants to drive people mad, wanna-be cool/macho personality and the kind of guys who totally SUCK BIG TIME!!
